Guwahati, Aug 17: Communications minister Pramod Mahajan was today heckled by National Students' Union of India (NSUI) activists who demanded his resignation for his alleged involvement in the Shivani Bhatnagar murder case, official sources said.
The NSUI activists gathered outside the Lokopriyo Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, shouted slogans and demanded his resignation as Mahajan arrived on his way back to New Delhi after a function at Borjhor, the sources said.
Mahajan was whisked away by security personnel and the protestors were forced to leave the area.
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha General Secretary Mukuta Deka told a news agency that this was a grave security lapse on part of the Assam government and the district administration and urged them to take strong action against the protestors.
