To mark the first anniversary of the creation of Uttaranchal, freedom fighters of the hill state will be honoured by Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshiyari in the Doon Valley on November 11.
As part of the state's foundation week celebrations, beginning on November 7, the freedom fighters will be presented with a memento and a shawl at a function in the pavilion ground.
District authorities have made arrangements for the boarding and lodging of the freedom fighters and their families in the Doon Valley. According to Dehra Dun district magistrate Om Prakash.
Schools and colleges in the state will remain closed on November 9 , which is the first birth anniversary of the new state. On November 8, a marathon will be organised. The race will be flagged off by the chief minister from St.Joseph's academy on Rajpur road schools will start at 0930 hrs because of the marathon, said the district magistrate.
