After the dust had settled, the outcome of the tussle between the International Cricket Council and the BCCI was clear: Dalmiya had won the battle but could have kicked off the war. Though both teams will play at Centurion Park from tomorrow, it will not — in the absence of the ‘sacked’ Mike Denness — be a Test match recognised by the ICC.
Also, the BCCI has accepted the controversial decisions taken by Denness. So when the India team walks out at Mohali to take on England, Virender Sehwag will not be one of them: he’ll still be serving his one-match ban.
