Model-actress Archana Pandey commits suicide

Famous model Archana Pandey reportedly committed suicide on Monday by jumping off her 12th floor apartment in Lokhandwala, Mumbai.

Mumbai: Famous model Archana Pandey reportedly committed suicide a few days ago.

Versova Police is investigating the matter to find out the reasons behind her death.

"We got a call from her neighbours, so went to the location where she was found dead. She had committed suicide a couple of days ago. Her body has been taken to Cooper hospital. A suicide note was also found at her residence," an official said Monday.

On Monday, her neighbours noticed a foul smell emanating from the flat and rang the door bell. When no one responded, they contacted the police, who entered the flat and found her body.

The police did not immediately say how Archana had committed suicide. Her body has been sent for post-mortem examination to Cooper Hospital.

In the suicide note, Archana had held her boyfriend Omar Pathan responsible for such a drastic step. A case of abetment of suicide against Pathan has been registered.

Archana was a known face in the modelling industry and had also starred in many south Indian films.
