London: Multi-millionaire rocker Rod Stewart has revealed that he had put his eldest daughter up for adoption because he was broke.
As an unknown 18-year-old, the singer could not afford to raise his daughter - Sarah Streeter.
"I was absolutely stone-broke, I didn’t have a pot to p*** in," The Mirror quoted Stewart as saying on Joy Behar`s US chat show.
Stewart, whose wife Penny Lancaster is expecting his eighth child, also explained that he made little effort to be a part of Sarah`s life because he did not want to "upset the apple cart".
