Salim Khan not to accept Padma Shri
One of the most revered writers in Bollywood, Salim Khan of the famous Salim-Javed duo was recently named in the coveted list of Padma Shri awards this year. However, reports now suggest that the veteran screenplay writer has refused to accept it.

New Delhi: One of the most revered writers in Bollywood, Salim Khan of the famous Salim-Javed duo was recently named in the coveted list of Padma Shri awards this year. However, reports now suggest that the veteran screenplay writer has refused to accept it.
According to a leading daily, Salim was quoted as saying that this has come too late to him, as previous government completely ignored his body of work. He even said that while he was not given his due at the right time, some of his juniors and colleagues were rewarded.
The 79-year-old writer is reported to be upset with the honour, keeping his contribution in mind. He reportedly believes that it does not match with his work and status.
Earlier, Yoga guru Ramdev and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar refused to accept the Padma honours.
