New Delhi, Dec 19: Smarting under the defeat of BJP in the just concluded assembly elections in Delhi, its state unit president Madan Lal Khurana today resigned from the post saying he was no longer keen on continuing in "active electoral politics".
BJP national vice-president Harshvardhan has been appointed as the new party unit president in place of Khurana.
"Khurana has submitted his resignation and Harshvardhan has been appointed as president of the Delhi state unit," BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu said here.
In his resignation letter to Naidu, Khurana said he wanted to quit active electoral politics.
Khurana, who is also a member of Lok Sabha, had quit his Motinagar assembly seat on Wednesday.
