Mumbai: After taking sides in the much publicized Shah Rukh Khan- Shirish Kunder spat just a day before, Bollywood celebs needed to let their hair down and enjoy the lavish sangeet ceremony of Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza.
Almost the entire Bollwyood fraternity made it to the much happening sangeet ceremony at Mumbai’s Taj Lands End.
Post the party, many of the celebs took to Twitter to wish the happy couple.
Riteish’s best buddy and his ‘Masti’ co star Aftab Shivdasani was a bit nervous before performing at the sangeet and he tweeted, “Off for the sangeet of my fav couple tonight.. @Riteishd @geneliad ... oh and yea, joining the crew in shaking a leg on stage..nervousssss!!(sic)”
Interestingly, Aftab performed on the famous track ‘Ek Kunwara’ which was picturised on Riteish, Aftab and Vivek Oberoi in the film ‘Masti’. “Ironically me dancing on a song called "ek kunwara` hmmmmm.... @Riteishd @geneliad lol...(sic),” Aftab tweeted.
Lensman Atul Kasbekar pointed out “Maharashtrian boy @Riteishd marries Catholic girl @geneliad n they have a Punjabi function. Must be the @kjohar25 influence. *shaava shaava*(sic).”
Dia Mirza tweeted, “Had fun at Ritiesh n Genelia`s sangeet now on to an intense day of panel discussion at EAG summit in Jaipur. Have a super day you all :)(sic).”
Jewelry designer Farah Khan Ali gave live updates from sangeet ceremony. She tweeted pictures with her friends Gauri Khan and Raveena Tandon and also wished the new couple. “On my way to @Riteishd and @geneliad sangeet party. Wish them both all the best in life. A wonderful couple. God bless them with happiness(sic).”
Birthday girl Preity Zinta tweeted, “@Riteishd Congratulations to you and Genelia and all the best for a happily married life ! Lotza love always..(sic)”
And excited Amrita Arora tweeted, “Lookin forward to some serious dancing at @Riteishd n Genelia,s sangeet 2nite....wish them happiness always....(sic),”
Filmmaker Karan Johar, who had directed the entire act of the Sangeet, tweeted “The warmest and most fun in a long time....the sangeet celebrations for @Riteishd and @geneliad!!!!! They are truly the best couple in town!(sic)”
Actress Priyanka Chopra could not make it to the sangeet but she wished the couple on their special day. The actress tweeted, “Wanna wish the lovely @geneliad and @Riteishd a super happy wedded life..love and happiness always..cudnt b there because of shoot in Hyd :((sic).”
