Farah wins best jewellery designer award

Mumbai: Jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali is on cloud nine after receiving "Best Jewellery Designer of the Year Award" at the Retail Jeweller India Awards.

"Yay yay yay, I won the Retail Jeweller India Awards 2011 `Best Jewellery Designer of the Year Award`. Thank you God & thank u all for ur wishes," Farah posted Sunday on microblogging site Twitter. The awards were held here Saturday. Daughter of veteran actor Sanjay Khan, Farah is married to DJ Aqeel and has two children, boy Azaan and girl Fizaa. "This award is even more special as my daughter Fizaa promised me a dozen love letters if I won. Can`t wait to see," she tweeted. Actress Pooja Bedi, who is also a good friend of the designer, congratulated her. "Congratulations @FarahKhanAli. For winning the prestigious jewellery design award (Oscars of the jewellery world)! So proud and happy (sic)," Bedi posted. Each year Retail Management Group celebrates the highest achievers in India`s dynamic jewellery industry through the award function which is chosen by an eclectic mix of jury. IANS
