Pakistani troops indulged in unprovoked and indiscriminate shelling on forward Indian positions and villages in Kargil sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday evening, official sources said. The shelling from across the border started around 4.15 pm and was intense, the sources said.
Kaksar, Drass, Batalik and Hunderman were the worst hit by the shelling. However, no casualty was reported, they added. Troops guarding the borders fired back and cross-border shelling was continuing when reports last came in, sources added.
