abducted two associates of prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi in
Hyderabad in 1998 and released them only after Telgi paid him
a ransom amount, Special Investigation Team (SIT) has alleged
in a chargesheet filed in a special court in Pune.
A micro-cassettee seized during the SIT probe gives vivid details of the conversation between Telgi and C B Krishna Yadav in which the monetary deal is alleged to have taken place for release of Telgi's associates.
Neither Telgi nor Yadav have admitted to such a deal and have not come forth to reveal how much money changed hands following the abduction case, the SIT further said in the chargesheet.
The sit chargesheet alleged that the tdp legislator used to provide protection to telgi's illegal stamps business till 1998, and the abduction occurred after Telgi and Yadav fell apart following a monetary dispute.
The SIT started zeroing on C B Krishna Yadav, after it seized the micro cassettee from Telgi's house at 3rd Pasta Lane, Colaba, South Mumbai, in January 2003. The tape revealed negotiations in which Yadav demanded Rs five crore to release Telgi's men, namely Abdul Wahid and Sadashiva. Telgi ultimately succeeded to convince Yadav to release his men for Rs five lakh, the tape revealed. Bureau Report
