Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) and Bharti group have finalised interconnect agreement for international long distance communications and will sign interconnect agreement for national long distance telephony this week, a top company official said on Tuesday. We have finalised interconnect agreement for ISD and the agreement for std would be signed this week, BSNL chairman and managing director Prithipal Singh told a news agency.
Singh said that as per the agreement between both the companies, Bharti would pay BSNL Rs 11.75 per calls originating from BSNL network, if the point of interconnect is within the Short Distance Charging Area (SDCA) or local call area. For non-SDCA related outgoing traffic, Bharti would pay Rs 15.35.
The interconnect deal also envisages grading rates for incoming traffic (international traffic terminating on BSNL network), Singh said adding that the minimum had been pegged at Rs 4.40.
