London: Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon said she felt like a "consolation prize" at the premiere of her new film `Water for Elephants` as fans gathered to see her hunky co-star Robert Pattinson.
The 35-year-old actress found hoards of female admirers waiting to catch a glimpse of Pattinson at the `Water for Elephants` world premiere in New York City last night, and knew they weren`t waiting for her, reported Contactmusic.
"Rob`s fans are very dedicated to him and they will turn out anywhere for him. I think I`m just the consolation prize for them!" Witherspoon said at the premiere.
However, while she accepts the 24-year-old `Twilight` star was more popular than her at the event, she admitted it was amazing to interact with all the fans on the red carpet.
"I think it`s incredible because as movie actors we sort of work isolated and we don`t get to see fans as often, so it`s a nice experience to actually get to meet some of them and know they`re excited for the film," she said.
