Mumbai: Veteran actress Anju Mahendru is all set to enter Zee TV’s primetime show, ‘Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se’. The show that stars Arhaan Behl, Mansi Shrivastav, Rucha Gujarati and Vikas Sethi in pivotal roles will now see Anju Mahendru as Renuka Aunty playing an essential part. Making her entry this week, Anju is excited to be a part of this show.
The actor said, “I play the character of Renuka in the show who is Mahima’s (Rucha Gujarati) maasi. She belongs to an erstwhile affluent family in Faridabad. Renuka is sharp but has always been dominated by the male members of the family. She has always been denied the right to become independent or lend a hand in the family business despite possessing the skills. Her collective angst against the men folk has made her cold towards her husband and as a result she has no regard for him.”
Said Rucha Gujarati, “It’s so good to have Anju ji on board. She’s an institution by herself and there’s so much to learn from her. She has tremendous screen presence and can light up any shot. She’s my maasi in the show and is of the opinion that a woman should never be defined by her husband`s success or failure. She feels my husband Jawant Rana (Vikas Sethi) is also a looser and hence tries to ignite my ambitions. We’re already having a ball shooting with her..”
In this week’s episodes, apart from Anju Mahendru’s entry, viewers will see a lot of misunderstandings cropping up between Raghu (Arhaan Behl) and Shivani (Mansi Shrivastav). Will this push them further apart?
