Los Angeles: Actress Jennifer Esposito has been cast to replace Alyssa Milano on the season three of TV series 'Mistresses'.

Esposito, 41, is set to star as Calista Raines, the creative director of a luxury fashion brand, and will start appearing in the series' upcoming third episode, reported Ace Showbiz.

Her role has been described by ABC as "uber-fabulous and larger-than-life, with a wicked sense of humour and style. She has the high-class socialite lifestyle that goes with it."

"Look beneath the surface, however, and we see her loneliness too - a woman whose fun eccentricities cloak a darker, more devious nature. Calista will become Joss' (Jes Macallan) friend, mentor, and surrogate sister - drawing Joss deeper and deeper into a world of secrets and betrayal."

Milano, 42, who starred as Savannah Davis in the first and second seasons of 'Mistresses', announced her departure from the series last October. Her exit occurred in the wake of announcement that production of the show was moved to Canada for the new season. She reasoned that she could not leave her husband and two kids and move to some other place.
