Islamabad, Nov 28: Launching a broadside against President Pervez Musharraf, former Pakistan premier Benazir Bhutto alleged that some of the ex-Pakistan army officers who trained Osama bin Laden and Talibans continued to wield influence in his regime. Accusing Musharraf of hobnobbing with the banned extremist groups like Lashkar-e-Toiba, she claimed that the brother of Musharraf's close aide Tariq Aziz was a member of the outfit, which was behind the attack on Indian Parliament last year.
Bhutto said in a hard-hitting interview to local private television channel geo news last night that some of the officials in the military regime were closely connected to the terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad.
She also alleged that the son of Deputy Attorney General of Punjab died while fighting along with Taliban in Afghanistan.
Bhutto said that her party would not have a tie-up with the pro-Taliban Islamist Muthahida Majlis Amal (MMA) despite the refusal of the military regime to permit her return from self exile, alleging that Pakistan's establishment voted for MMA to terrify the outside world.
