SAD-BJP demands withdrawal of `false cases`
Chandigarh, July 11: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and BJP delegation today met Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani here and urged him to direct Amarinder Singh government to immediately `withdraw false cases` against former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
Chandigarh, July 11: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and BJP delegation today met Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani here and urged him to direct Amarinder Singh government to immediately "withdraw false cases" against former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
The demand was made in a joint memorandum submitted to advani by the two parties, which among others included SAD and Punjab BJP presidents Parkash Singh Badal and Brij Lal Rinwa.
The memorandum also requested the Deputy Prime Minister to bring punjab "out of the prevailing environment of terror, anarchy and dictatorship". Asked about the response from Advani, Badal said the Deputy Prime Minister "assured necessary action" in the matter. The delegation also submitted another memorandum demanding investigation by a Central agency into allegations against Amarinder Singh on repayment of Rs nine crore loan to banks after he became chief minister.
