The Congress said it will demand a full discussion on the Prevention Of Terrorism Ordinance, coffin scam based on CAG report, re-induction of Mr George Fernandes into the Cabinet and the armsgate issues in the Budget session of Parliament.
When the ordinance on POTO was first promulgated, it was opposed by the Congress outside the Parliament and it would be opposed again if an ordinance to this effect was repromulgated after the lapse of the existing ordinance, the party indicated in reply to a question at a press briefing. On whether these issues would also be raised during the forthcoming elections in four states, Mr Reddy told reporters that it would be decided by the party.
Asked about the reason for sine die adjournment of Lok Sabha, Mr Reddy said that a consensus to this effect had evolved this afternoon. An understanding had been reached, at a meeting of floor leaders with the speaker, to drop contentious issues on the plea that a climate of consensus had been created on the issue of terrorist attack on Parliament which should not be diluted, much less dissipated, after the debate in the house.
