Strange to leave 'The Vampire Diaries': Nina Dobrev

Los Angeles: Having been a part of "The Vampire Dairies" for six long years, actress Nina Dobrev finds it strange to leave her "family" for new avenues.

Dobrev, last month, announced her departure from the popular vampire drama, also starring Ian Somerhalder and Paul Weasely.

"I've loved working on this show. It's been such a crazy, awesome adventure, and I've been surrounded by so many people who I consider family," Dobrev said.

"I know this is a new exciting step in the right direction for me, but it's going to be so strange not to be with them," she said.

Somerhalder's ex-girlfriend, 26, whose final episode of "The Vampire Diaries" airs on Thursday, marking the season six finale, is planning on hitting the road with her girlfriends before tackling her next big role.

"There are no hotel reservations, no real plans. Just six people, three vehicles, two in each car," she said.
