London, Sept 29: American hip-hop band Black Eyed Peas hung on to the top spot in the British singles charts for a fourth week running on Sunday with their pacifist ballad "Where Is The Love," the Official UK Charts Company said.
The song, featuring vocals by Justin Timberlake, focuses on rising world conflict in the wake of the September 11 attacks on America.
The Peas beat off stiff competition from British rockers The Darkness, a spandex-wearing four-piece who have earned comparisons with Queen and Aerosmith.
The Darkness entry, "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" knocked former S Club singer Rachel Stevens into third place with her "Sweet Dreams My LA Ex" while British singer Dido dropped to fourth with "White Flag."
British hip hop sextet Big Brovaz remained in seventh place with "Baby Boy," one spot ahead of American rock group Evanescence's new entry "Going Under."
"Neighbors" actress and rising international pop star Delta Goodrem saw her new entry "Innocent Eyes" reach ninth place while Canadian rockers Nickelback dropped four places to tenth with "Someday."
