After winning the coveted National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment earlier this year, for his directorial debut  ‘Mary Kom’, Omung Kumar, is gearing up for his next- a biopic on Sarabjit Singh, an Indian, who got killed in a Pakistani jail.

Mumbai: After winning the coveted National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment earlier this year, for his directorial debut  ‘Mary Kom’, Omung Kumar, is gearing up for his next- a biopic on Sarabjit Singh, an Indian, who got killed in a Pakistani jail.

After roping in Randeep Hooda to play the titular role and Aishwarya for essaying his sister- Dalbir’s character, Kumar, is reportedly keen to cast Amitabh Bachchan, to play the character of a Pakistani lawyer who fought Sarabjit’s case.

The film is about the fight Dalbir fought for her brother’s release from the Lahore jail and is slated to release in May next year.
