Om Shanti Om

Her journey in Bollywood started out on a note, fairytales are made of. She even managed to stun the critics with both the sheer screen presence and acting talent.

Cocktail

It took Deepika some time before we saw her in an uber chic avatar. Thanks to Homi Adajania's 'Cocktail' that Dippy's dipping career took a turn. She had arrived all over again with this film and how! The actress tasted success after a string of flop films, and this one proved to be a runaway hit at the Box Office window. Her style, role play, acting—everything was loved by the audience. 'Cocktail' gave her career the much-needed boost.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

How can Deepika and Ranbir Kapoor's on-screen romance not work wonders at the Box Office. Yes, it did what was expected out of the young an fresh movie. Ayan Mukerji's 'YJHD' made success and broke many records too. Both Ranbir and Deepika came together for the first time post their break-up. The audience loved to see the two as a love-struck couple on reel. This film did left a mark on many.

Chennai Express

Her heavy South Indian accent was adorable in the movie. Watching both SRK and Deepika together in a film is a delight in its own. Added to that, the duo reprised the most romantic train sequence from 'DDLJ' in the movie. Rohti Shetty's 'Chennai Express' became a superhit and once again Dippy ruled the hearts of many. The film broke several records that year.

Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela

The film is perhaps a milestone in Deepika's career. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus starring Dippy and Ranveer Singh was a blockbuster hit at the Box Office. The film sweeped maximum awards that year. The actress was praised fro her performance on-screen. Her character of a Gujarati girl in a film which was an adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet will always be remembered by cinema fans. This was perhaps her most unconventional role so far. She played a young widow in the movie which was bilingual (Hindi and English). Her latest release 'Piku' saw her sharing the screen space with none other than megastar Amitabh Bachchan. She played his daughter on reel and in turn got rave reviews for her performance. Dippy as a Bengali architect living in the capital, whereas Amitabh Bachchan as her hypochondriac father was a delight to watch on-screen. Irrfan Khan, Moushumi Chatterjee and Jishu Sengupta were seen in important roles.
