Johann Johannsson won the 72nd Golden Globe award in the Best Original Score -- Motion Picture category for his work in ‘Theory Of Everything’, while in the Original Song -- Motion Picture category, John Legend and Common won for their collaboration on ‘Glory’, from ‘Selma’, Sunday night.

Los Angeles: Johann Johannsson won the 72nd Golden Globe award in the Best Original Score -- Motion Picture category for his work in ‘Theory Of Everything’, while in the Original Song -- Motion Picture category, John Legend and Common won for their collaboration on ‘Glory’, from ‘Selma’, Sunday night.

Johannsson had competitors like Alexandre Desplat (‘The Imitation Game’), Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (‘Gone Girl’), Antonio Sanchez (‘Birdman’) and Hans Zimmer (‘Interstellar’).

Meanwhile, John Legend and Common's ‘Glory’ pipped other tracks like ‘Big Eyes’ (‘Big Eyes’, music and lyrics by Lana Del Rey), ‘Mercy Is’ (‘Noah’, music and lyrics by Patti Smith, Lenny Kaye); ‘Opportunity’ (‘Annie’, music and lyrics by Greg Kurstin, Sia Furler, Will Gluck) and ‘Yellow Flicker Beat’ (‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 1’, music and lyrics by Lorde), for their award.

The award ceremony, held at The Beverly Hilton hotel here, saw the presence of a slew of stars from Hollywood.
