Los Angeles: Julia Roberts and Jack O'Connell have entered talks for Jodie Foster's 'Money Monster'.

The pair have been lined up for the Oscar-winning actress's movie, which will also star George Clooney, reported The Wrap. The film will centre around bombastic financial TV personality Lee Gates (Clooney), who offers stock advice on his hit show 'Money Monster'.

O'Connell will play struggling blue-collar worker Kyle Budwell, who hatches a plot to take Gates hostage on air. Roberts is nearing a deal to play 'Money Monster' director and executive producer Nancy Fenn.

O'Connell will feature in Angelina Jolie's 'Unbroken' and Terry Gilliam's 'The Man Who Killed Don Quixote'. Roberts was most recently seen in 'August: Osage County' and 'The Normal Heart'.

'Money Monster' will enter production in early 2015.
