Mumbai: He is known for making films based on the harsh realities of life and now filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar is set to make one against the backdrop of the 1975 emergency.
Bhandarkar also quashed all rumours claiming that he is making films called 'Bollywood Wives' or 'Air Hostess'.
"Just to clarify, right now I am not making any film called 'Bollywood Wives' or 'Air Hostess'. My next is on d backdrop of Emergency in 1975," Bhandarkar tweeted on Tuesday.
Then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared an emergency for 21 months, during which the democratic rights of citizens were curbed.
Bhandarkar has previously helmed hard-hitting films like 'Heroine', 'Calendar Girls', 'Fashion', 'Page 3' and 'Corporate'.
