Salman Khan’s previous blockbuster Eid releases

Mumbai: Bajrangi Bhaijaan has indeed been an Eidi for Salman Khan's fans this year. 

The Bollywood heavyweight, who is hugely popular in India and abroad for his flamboyance, style, irresistible charm and matchless aura, is back on the big screen as ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ in the Kabir Khan film which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Salman reclaimed the Box Office after a string of unimpressive films in 2009 with ‘Wanted’, an Eid release. And since then the festival date at the Box Office was almost blocked by the hunk of a superstar.

Prabhudheva`s `Wanted` which released in September 2009, loaded with some breathtaking action sequences turned the tide for the actor.

`Dabangg` (2010), which launched Sonakshi Sinha, took the Box Office by storm. The film had an ensemble cast, foot-tapping numbers and a sizzling hot chemistry between Salman the mentor and Sonakshi his protege.

Salman hit a hat-trick with `Bodyguard` in 2011. The film which also featured Kareena Kapoor Khan, had an unusual story line and Salman in a never-seen-before avatar.

With `Ek Tha Tiger` in 2012, Salman Khan struck the purple patch in his career which is spread over two decades. The film is noteworthy because Salman romanced his former ladylove Katrina Kaif onscreen in a Yash Raj Films production!

Salman did not make his presence felt on the silverscreen in 2013. However, the actor treated his fans with ‘Kick’ an Eidi for the year. ‘Kick’ did handsome business thereby reinstating Salman’s strength at the Box Office.

And now, it’s time for ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ .

Even as fans await this new film, the industry is gearing up for next year’s Eid as former arch rivals-turned-friends – Salman and SRK – are all set to clash at the Box Office with ‘Sultan’ and ‘Raees’ respectively.
