Los Angeles: Actor Sam Claflin, who was previously part of "Snow White and the Huntsman", will return to star in the prequel, "The Huntsman". In the follow-up movie, he will reprise his role as William, Snow White's childhood friend and love interest, reported Ace Showbiz.

Claflin will join the returning stars Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron who play titular character Eric the Huntsman and Queen Ravenna respectively. However, Kristen Stewart will not return to the prequel. Also joining the cast are Rob Brydon, Alexandra Roach, Sheridan Smith, Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain.

The movie centers on how the fates of Eric and Ravenna intersected before they met Snow White. Cedric Nicolas-Troyan will direct the movie from a script by Frank Darabont while the earlier drafts were written by Craig Mazin and Evan Spiliotopoulos.

Joe Roth produces the film alongside executive producer Palak Patel. Both of them were also behind the first film. "The Huntsman" will open in the US on April 22, 2016.

Claflin stars as Finnick Odair in "The Hunger Games" film franchise, and will appear in the upcoming installment, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2". He is also known for appearing in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides", and was recently reported to take part in "Rogue One".
