Iggy Azalea slams media for trying to create 'beef' between her, Britney Spears

Washington DC: Iggy Azalea has taken it to her Twitter page to first set rumors straight about Britney Spears and their single 'Pretty Girls,' then to diss the media who want to get "paid."

The 25-year-old rapper recently took a hiatus from Twitter after dealing with trolls, but said she wanted to connect with her fans and answer some questions, which soon turned into a rant, E! Online reported.

Azalea then unleashed a tirade, saying "Iam honestly not surprised but still really saddened that the media is trying to create a " beef" between @britneyspears and myself. We remain friends and i haven't said anything negative at all about her. Does wishing we had promoted a single more make me the bad guy?"

She added that she feels like the media wants women in music to get out and mud wrestle each other and so, as a woman she took great offense, noting "No one is throwing shade or shots on either side of the table. The girl is my friend and i support her 100%."

She went on to say "i feel like the press just wants to see girls be overtly sexual to one another, and have no real opinion other than "i love it! ^.^" and added "m over it. Women in music are not the same as a teen drama. Stop making us all out to be, we are business women & artists. Not mean girls."
