Jaipur, Nov 09: BJP today demanded removal of slogans with the name of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot allegedly printed on school text books describing it as gross violation of election code of conduct. "All the school text books published by state (Rajsthan) government agency carry slogans with name of Gehlot which is a clear violation of code of conduct against which Election Commission should take immediate action," chief of BJP action committee Pratap Singh Khachariyawas told reporters here.
Since EC had ordered removal of names and photographs of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee from official hoardings in highways in Rajasthan, it should act similarly against Gehlot's name printed on governmet text books, Khachariyawas said.
The books are distributed free of charge to poor school children all over the state, he said.
