Ahmedabad, May 03: A local court today remanded sharpshooter Asghar Ali and his four accomplices, arrested in connection with former Gujarat home and revenue minister Haren Pandya's murder, to 12 days' police custody. Metropolitan Magistrate R I Raval sent Ali, who allegedly pumped five bullets into Pandya and four others – Mohammad Abdul Bari, Mohammad Abdul Rauf, Sayyed Iftikhar and Mohammad Shafi -- to crime branch custody.


The crime branch had yesterday obtained a transfer warrant for taking the five accused into police custody from judicial custody. The five had been arrested from Hyderabad.
