those who represent Kashmiris to resolve the Kashmir problem but at the same time wanted UN to implement its resolutions on Kashmir.
"India should start a serious dialogue with Pakistan and those who represent Kashmiris for a long, lasting and durable peace in the sub-continent," a Hurriyat spokesman said. He also appealed to the UN to implement its resolutions passed on January 5, 1949 on Kashmir issue for the betterment of the people of the South Asian region. Chairman of People's League Farooq Rehmani in a faxed message to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan said that the implementation of the resolutions, was the only solution to the dispute as the bilateral agreements between India and Pakistan had failed to resolve it.
