Mumbai, Sept 09: Demonstrating the growing significance of Standard Chartered India operations, the group has appointed two management committee members Sanjeev Agrawal and Soumen Basu from the country to key global positions. The functional roles of finance, technology and operations, legal and compliance and strategic sourcing and property management have been combined in India, Standard Chartered said in a release here on Monday.
Agrawal, chief financial officer of India region, has been appointed as chief operating officer and would now be responsible for delivery of bank’s strategic and operating plans also, it said.
Chief operating officer Mr Basu has been appointed wholesale bank programme director, Basel, and would be relocated to Singapore. In the present role, he was instrumental in delivering the successful integration of the technical and operations platform of Grindlays with Standard Chartered.
