Beijing, July 06: The North Korean nuclear issue and trade relations would top the agenda of the new Chinese and South Korean presidents when they meet for the first time here tomorrow, analysts said today. South Korean President Roh Moo-Hyun will arrive here tomorrow on a four-day visit as guest of his Chinese counterpart, Hu Jintao and the two leaders will have in-depth exchange of views on bilateral, regional and international issues of common concern, Chinese foreign ministry sources said.

This is the first meeting between Hu and Roh since their assuming office in March and February respectively, said Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Kong Quan said while pointing out that Beijing's relations with Seoul have developed steadily since the establishment of diplomatic relations 11 years ago. Apart from Hu, Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong, National People's Congress standing committee chairman Wu Bangguo, premier wen Jiabao will also meet with Roh.

Chinese experts said the first meeting between the Chinese and South Korean leader will play an important role in bilateral ties, economic and trade cooperation and the settlement of regional and international issues.

"The nuclear issue of North Korea is one of the current focal points of the international community. The two presidents are expected to exchange views on the issue," he said. Bureau Report
