Ghaziabad: Three men, associated with the notorious Sunder Bhati gang, were arrested from the Sihani gate area in Ghaziabad and arms and ammunition were seized from their possession, the police said on Tuesday.

The accused had allegedly looted Rs 35 lakh cash from a van belonging to a petrol pump at the Vasundhra Enclave, when the vehicle was on its way to a bank.

Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted the accused -- Robin, Ankur and Pradeep -- all from Hapur district, while they were travelling on a motorcycle, Superintendent of Police (City) Akash Tomar said.

One licensed pistol, two country-made pistols, four live cartridges and Rs 1.33 lakh cash were seized from their possession, he added.

The accused had confessed that they were associated with the Sunder Bhati gang, the police said.
