Rajkot: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held a roadshow here and said that the city would always be special for him.
He also gave away various types of helping devices to over 18,500 differently-abled people, setting a world record on distribution of helpful gadgets to 'divyangs.'
Maintaining that his government held a total of 5,500 such camps to help 'divyangs' in last three years, the PM rued that merely 55 such camps were organised from 1992 to 2013, as per PTI.
Setting a world record on distribution of various devices to differently-abled people in the camp at the Race Course ground here and addressing the beneficiaries at Samajik Adhikarita Camp, PM Modi said only 55 such camps were organised during the 1992-2013.
Earlier in Ahmedabad today, he termed the Sabarmati Ashram as Mahatma Gandhi's "tapobhoomi", or the land where he did spiritual practice, and said the place has enlightened the entire humanity.
PM Modi was here to take part in the centenary celebrations of the ashram, which was home to Gandhi ji from 1917 to 1930.
