Angelina Jolie's upcoming film, 'First They Killed My Father' was surrounded by a controversy when, according to rumours, real money was taken from a child during audition. Jolie defended the claim as false and now finally, the film is set to release on Netflix from September 15.
Jolie's Cambodian friend and human rights activist, Loung Ung's life has been taken as inspiration for the film. It tells the story of the tragedy that Khmer Rouge, the communist party followers, inflicted on the nation. Ung's father, mother and two sisters along with more than 2 million people were killed in the purge.
The trailer of the film was made available on Wednesday.
