500 participants to contest masters swimming competition

Rajkot: At least 500 swimmers from the age group of 15 to 85 years from across the country will participate in the two-day National level masters swimming competition starting here from Saturday.

Nearly 500 participants from 15 states will be take part in the tournament conducted by Swimming Federation of India, Social Welfare Committee of Rajkot Municipal Corporation chairman Devang Mankad said. A local student Rishit Goswami would be felicitated during the tournament for winning gold medal in school-level national competition recently, Mankad said. Director of Delhi Swimming Association Kamlesh Nanavati, who is also the director for Commonwealth 2010 will also be there during the competition, he said. PTI
