Bangalore, Nov 30: Accenture formally opened a new lab here today, following its July announcement on its establishment focused on systems integration and software engineering research and development.
India was chosen as the fourth location for Accenture Technology labs in order to have an innovation team co-located with Accenture's one of the largest client delivery teams, a company statement said.
Accenture said it has more than 23,000 employees (as of August 31) in India, including significant professionals at its delivery centres in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune and Gurgaon (NCR of Delhi) serving more than 275 company clients.
Accenture's Global Delivery Network has more than 52,000 people around the world providing a wide array of services in system integration, application outsourcing, and business process outsourcing, it said.
"The goal of the India lab will be to enable businesses to reduce the cost and improve the quality of technology solution delivery," the company said.
Accenture's chief technology officer, Don Rippert, along with Kiran Karnik, president, nasscom dedicated the new facility at a ceremony. Also present were Lyle Ginsburg,
global managing director, Accenture Technology Labs, and Lin Chase, Director, Accenture Technology Labs, India.
