Contempt notice issued against Paramhans in Ayodhya case

Lucknow, Aug 20: The special High Court bench hearing the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suits today issued show cause notice to Ram Janmabhoomi trust president Mahant Paramhans Ramchandra Das as to why he should not be punished for contempt of court for his utterance against its suggestion for excavation at the disputed site.

Mahant Paramhans Ramchandra Das as to why he should not be
punished for contempt of court for his utterance against its
suggestion for excavation at the disputed site.

The special full bench of the Allahabad High Court also
directed the mahant to appear before it on September 9 with
his reply.

The bench, comprising justice Sudhir Narain, justice S
Rafat Alam and justice Bhanwar Singh of the Lucknow bench of
the High Court, took a serious note of the situation when the
Mahant publised his views in newspapers.
