First railway will chug in Kashmir in 2007

The first Railway line between between Udhampur and Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir will be completed in five years and the first train is expected to run on 15th August 2007, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee announced in Srinagar on Thursday.

He told reporters that the 287 kms Udhampur and Baramulla rail track via Srinagar will cost Rs 36 bn.
