Huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered in Assam

Two sacks of arms and ammunition, suspected to be hidden by ULFA militants, have been recovered from Namgdang Reserve Forest in Assam`s Dibrugarh district on Wednesday, official sources said.

Dibrugarh, June 24: Two sacks of arms and ammunition, suspected to be hidden by ULFA militants, have been recovered from Namgdang Reserve Forest in Assam`s Dibrugarh district on Wednesday, official sources said.
The arms and ammunition include one AK-56 rifle, one
revolver, 3000 rounds of live ammunition, five grenades, three
magazines, 30 detonators, two Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG)
and live cartridges of AK-47 series, the sources said.

The cache of arms was unearthed from Roumari area of the
forest where it was hidden underground in two sacks, the
sources said.

On a tip off, the police and troops of 11 Guards
Regiment had launched a search inside the Reserve Forest
beginning yesterday.
