ITBP woman jawan to represent India at World Judo

An ITBP woman jawan is all set to represent India at the World Judo Championship to be held at the Netherlands later this week.

New Delhi: An ITBP woman jawan is all set to represent India at the World Judo Championship to be held at the Netherlands later this week.

Kalpana Devi of Indo-Tibetan Border Police has been selected to represent India in 26th World Judo Championship -2009 being organised at Rotterdam in Netherlands.

The Indian team consists of four men, three women judo players along with four coaches including 2 foreign coaches.
Devi, who will participate in below 52-kg weight category, has already won several medals in many prestigious international Judo Championships.

She has won one gold and one silver in 9th Asian Junior Judo Championship-2008 at Sana`a in Yemen. She bagged one gold in South Asian Judo Championships-2008 at Kathmandu in Nepal besides others.
