J&K govt collects Rs 1cr as power theft fine

Jammu and Kashmir government has recovered Rs 1cr as fine on account of power theft last year.

Srinagar, Jan 26: Jammu and Kashmir government has
recovered Rs 1cr as fine on account of power theft last
year.

"Fine of Rs 1cr was recovered during drive against
power theft last year," an official spokesman said after a
review meeting yesterday.

Under Prime Minister's economic package to the state, 34
new Grid Stations are being constructed in the valley of
which six have been completed, he said.

He said several steps are underway to improve and develop
electricity related infrastructure in the state.

He said baglihar power project would be completed soon
which would improve the power scenario in the state while
work on new power house at Ganderbal would be taken up in
April this year.
