Gandhinagar, July 04: Gujarat government on Wednesday
effected a major reshuffle in police administration
transferring 23 senior IPS officials including the Chief of
the Anti-corruption Bureau and District Superintendent of
Anti-corruption Bureau Director R N Bhattacharya has been
made Inspector General of jails while K S Chaturvedi,
commandant general of home guards, will now become Additional
Director General of Police, computer cum state crime record
bureau, an official release said here.
Raju Bhargav, District Superintendent of Police, Godhra,
has been posted as DSP Dangs, while Narsimha Komar, Valsad
District Superintendent of Police, replaces Bhargav.
V J Gautam, Deputy Police Commissioner (north), Vadodara
city, becomes the commandant, state reserve police, group- 7,
S Banerjee, Inspector General jails, would replace
Bhattacharya, while O P Mathur, special Inspector General, has
been posted as Commissioner, communications.
R M S Brar, special Inspector General, jails, would now
take over as the new commissioner of prohibition.
S K Sinha, special Inspector General of Police, border
range Kutch, has been posted as Rajkot Police Commissioner in
place of Upendra Singh who has been made special Inspector,
P K Jha, superintendent, motor transport, Gandhinagar,
takes over as new DIG, border range, Kutch and A K Pandya,
Deputy Police Commissioner (north) Surat city has been
appointed in his place.
Atul Karwal, who returned from deputation to Centre, is
commandant state reserve police, 13 group, Rajkot.
