Jaipur, June 20: The south-west monsoon which was
expected to bring much relief to the people of Rajasthan from the scorching heat by now would be delayed due to its weak current over Gujarat, the met office said today.

monsoon current have got weakened near Surat in Gujarat
delaying its arrival in the state, the report said.
However, the western disturbance caused pre-monsoon rains in Alwar, Bharatpur, Jaipur, Dausa, Sikar and Churu districts since yesterday. Intermittent rains and squall hit many places
in these districts.
The maximum rainfall of 40 mm was recorded in Alwar,
followed by Lalsot 22.6, Rahul Dam 16 and Dausa 13 till 0800
hours today, it said.
Last year, the monsoon had hit the state on June 13,
while in 1982 and 1987 it was delayed till July 14.
