Mumbai, Sept 24: Samajwadi party leader Amar Singh
on Sunday claimed that Maharashtra government has reduced security
cover for Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and SP Rajya
Sabha member Abu Asim Azmi and blamed Deputy Chief Minister R
R Patil and NCP president Sharad Pawar for the decision.
"If anything happens to Azmi, we will hold Pawar and
Patil responsible," Singh told reporters here.
"Even when I come to Mumbai, I am not provided with
security. I am not going to beg to the Maharashtra government
for providing security. I am not going beg to Pawar," he said.
Stating that Bachchan was a national icon and beyond
politics, Singh said "It is a matter of concern that the
government has reduced security cover to the actor.”
"Even if Supriya Sule, daughter of Pawar, comes to
Uttar Pradesh, we will provide her adequate security," said
Singh, flanked by party`s Rajya Sabha member Jaya Bachchan.
