Siliguri, Jan 25: The Uttar Pradesh police has
arrived in Darjeeling on Thursday to investigate whether an
11-year-old girl from there was a victim of the macabre
serial killing of children at Nithari.

District magistrate Rajesh Pandey told the press over phone
today that a sub-inspector of Uttar Pradeh police Santaram
Yadav, along with district police, reached 11-year-old Nisha
Lepcha`s house at Takdamajitar village.

The girl`s mother and a relative James Thapa also
accompanied Yadav.

According to Darjeeling district administration, Nisha
was sent to Thapa at Nithari village in Noida for schooling
and used to stay at his restaurant there. She was found
missing in July last year while returning home after school.

Thapa had complained to the police in writing.

Pandey said it would be too early to confirm that the

started only today.

A woman Maya Sarkar of Malda, West Bengal, is already
being interrogated for her alleged involvement in the
killings, officials said.
