Incomprehensible though it may seem, each family which has shifted to Greater Noida is generating a whopping garbage of four quintals per day. Consider this as well: The garbage mound is being transported to land fills on scooters, motor-bikes and even a Maruti car.

The Greater Noida Civic Authorities have been paying a private sector company Rs 15 lakh per month for disposal of 2,200 tonnes of solid waste. This waste is being generated by about 250 families of the township - being touted as an abode of the new millennium.
