Chandigarh, July 21: Heavy rains lashed the city and
parts of Punjab and Haryana this morning, bringing down the
temperature considerably.
Rain brought cheers to residents of the city which
had experienced only light rains earlier.
The Meteorological Department recorded 6.4 mm of rain in
Chandigarh. Ambala in Haryana had also received light rain, it
said adding Amritsar received 4.6 mm of rain early today which
brought down temperatures considerably.
In Himachal Padesh, Shimla received some showers while
many other places in the state were lashed by heavy rains
during the past 24 hours.
Reports of rainfall were received from Sundernagar (21.0
mm), Kasoli (3.8 mm), Kahu (12.0 mm), Pandhoh (7.0 mm) and
Sunjanpur Tera (5.7 mm).
