Washington, Sept 09: External affairs minister Yashwant Sinha would hold crucial talks with top American leaders over two days here, ahead of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee`s weeklong visit to the United States.
Sinha today begins his hectic two-day schedule with a luncheon hosted by US Secretary of State Colin Powell followed by a meeting with National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice.
The External Affairs minister is also scheduled to meet Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
Sinha would also meet US treasury secretary Paul O`neill, who would be attending the G-20 meeting in New Delhi in November, alongwith deputy treasury secretary Kenneth Dam.
Apart from holding talks with several Congressional leaders, Sinha would also address the brookings institution, and give interviews to leading newspapers and TV channels.
Sinha would also participate in a "stake out" for the media at the state department with Powell and would address a
press conference in the evening.
Later he would join Prime Minister Vajpayee, who will address the United Nations General Assembly on September 12 and would hold parleys with leaders from several countries on the fringes of the UN meet.
